Consumer Profile

Isabelle Nishazaki
Isabelle Nishazaki is a Japanese-American 16-year old sophomore at Arcata High School in Arcata, California.

She is the starting right mid-fielder for the Women's Varsity High School Soccer Team.

While Isabelle typically plays soccer aggressively, she has begun to adopt a more cautious playing style.

Isabelle needs gear that will protect her and empower her to perform her best on the soccer field.
female warrior

Our chief inspiration for the collection was the idea of the bold and powerful female warrior.

Throughout my product development,
I drew inspiration from the Onna-bugeisha, the lesser known class of Japanese female samurai.
I intended for this inspiration to connect the product to Isabelle's cultural Japanese heritage.

Prototyping

Tape-ups and fun foam exercises were completed first to establish form.

Upper and footwear patterns were created with the help of Eustace Robinson from Pensole's 203 Concept Shop.

I sculpted the outsole with Dremel tools and sanding from EVA foam.
